Kimchi Fried Rice
Hello Guys today i am going to share one of my favorite Korean food called Kimchi Fried Rice, i want to share this recipe with you because this dish is full of different flavors that will make you eat more.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of cooked rice (preferably day-old rice)
- 1 cup of chopped kimchi
- 1/2 cup kimchi juice(from the kimchi jar)
- 4-6 slices of bacon, chopped ( optional)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon gochujang
- 2 green onion,chopped
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- If you are using day-old rice, break up any clumps and separate the grains.Fresh rice can also be used, but it might be a bit sticky.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.
- Add the chopped bacon( if using) to the skillet and cook until crispy.If not using bacon, you can skip this step.
- Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté until it becomes translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant
- Add the chopped kimchi to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the kimchi juice,soy sauce,and gochujang.Pour this mixture into the skillet and stir well to coat the ingredients.
- Add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir-fry everything together, ensuring the rice is evenly coated with the sauce.Cook for about 5-6 minutes, until the rice is heated through.
- Drizzle sesame oil over the rice and give it a final stir.
- Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve the Kimchi Fried Rice hot as a main dish or as a side dish alongside with other Korean dishes.
